For Katie.

It must be a school calendar thing — I did a Google image search and all the M T W R F calendars that came up were education-related. Which leads me to believe the that the R is used to distinguish between Tuesday and Thursday classes.

Makes sense, I guess. Not everyone is as smart as we are...

I've never heard of R representing Thursday either...apparently I live under a rock.

Well, you may be correct here. I called my friend who teaches college English, and she said that when she teaches a Tuesday/Thursday class, she has seen it referred to as T/R classes. I still think it's reird. I mean weird. :)

I can remember when it was always a T for Tuesday and a Th for Thursday. Then I started seeing the R in college catalogs. But then, I remember when "signage" was simply "signs." I don't even know when that changed. I think it's a plot of some kind. Winning!!
